Recently, the Anhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology announced the list of designated key laboratories in Anhui Province for the year 2023. The "Anhui Key Laboratory of Ion Medical Devices " proposed by Hefei CAS Ion Medical and Technical Devices Co., Ltd. (HFCIM) has been successfully selected.

The key provincial laboratory in Anhui Province is oriented towards national strategic objectives and the significant needs of Anhui's development. It systematically conducts basic and applied research, aiming to break through major original innovations and critical core technologies. The laboratory focuses on fostering excellent innovative talents, engaging in high-level collaborative innovations, and serving as a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and leading innovation base that facilitates the integration of scientific and industrial innovation. It stands as the highest-level provincial platform for scientific and engineering research in technological innovation.

The Anhui Key Laboratory of Ion Medical Devices, focusing on the health of the people and the significant demands for the construction of national key technological infrastructure, will address key common challenges in the field of ion medicine. Taking the development of domestically produced superconducting proton therapy systems and medical isotope preparation systems as entry points, the laboratory aims to overcome critical challenges in ion medicine, thereby contributing to the development of the health industry in our province.

As the supporting unit of the Anhui Key Laboratory of Ion Medical Devices, HFCIM will use the provincial key laboratory as a starting point to explore new pathways that integrate production, academia, and research. The focus will be on continuously breaking through key technologies in ion equipment, developing core equipment systems, and establishing a technological innovation base that integrates high-end medical devices, cyclotron series products, and talent training.
